DescriptionThe panelists will make brief presentations (leading to a group discussion) about the use of official and unofficial publications in struggles for union democracy and reform; the challenge of opening up the labor media to rank-and-file voices and a more free-wheeling debate about job problems, employer strategies, and union responses; and the historic role of labor journalism in working class politics, strikes, organizing campaigns, and exposes of workplace conditions.
