Resolutions Passed at Labor's Voices 3
| 1. Build a national campaign for Workers Independent News (WIN), the only daily labor news radio feed in the US. We need to get greater funding for this important initiative and also get every local in the country to put a link on their web site to WIN. 2. Support the International Labour Media Network (ILMN) proposal that was presented at the conference. 3. Support a national campaign to have 12 hours of labor programming on PBS and NPR on Labor Day 2007 and support the petition campaign initiated by UPPNET. 4. Support the New Orleans October ILCA initiative to build a labor media center in New Orleans during October 5. 5. Support the establishment of a 24 hour labor television channel in the United States. 6. Support national Congressional hearings on the lack of labor programming on PBS and the affect of monopolization on labor and news in the United States along with the affect of union media workers. 7.Whereas, labor film maker and academic Fazel Khan from South African University of Kwa Zulu-Natal (UZKN) and Durban South African worker Rafael "Mazisi" Mhnana have been fired and discriminated against as a result of the Durban shackdweller's film Breyani and The Councilor and, Therefore this conference calls for the re-instatement of Fazel Khan and an end to the discrimination against actgivists such as Rafael "Mazisi" Mhnana in the Abahlali shack dwellers movement. »
